“LATA was a huge part of my life. The aspect I find most important, which you don't find with other schools, is the way in which the showcases/shows are produced. The experience is that of a professional environment and production! Not only did I learn a lot from the brilliant teachers, but I made friends for life, and that support network of friends is crucial for a happy career”

“I'm really grateful for the confidence I gained with 'LATA Academy', as I think it really helped with my career and also taught me about the value of perseverance and hard work! This year I applied for drama schools and was accepted into Musical Theatre at Central and Acting at Drama Centre and Guildhall, I don't think I'd have been accepted into such different courses were it not for the diverse range of skills taught at the 'Academy'.”
Ellen Gibbons
Established professional, Guildhall graduate
"LATA provided me with the skills, tools and (perhaps most importantly) the mindset that I needed in order to get into Drama School. Matt Hewitt is one of the best acting tutors around, and he really pushes you as an actor, which is the best way you can improve. 'LATA' is not only a specialist school for young professionals who are committed to their craft and want to be a working performer but also for anyone who can utilize the core elements of drama, such as confidence and freedom of expression, and simply for enjoyment of performing. My memories of 'LATA' are all very fond, and there are lessons that I learnt there that I still draw upon and will never forget."
Joe Richardson
Established professional, starred in International tour of War Horse
"Without LATA, I wouldn't be where I am today. I was a part of the graduating LATA Class of 2011, and I found that as fantastic and invaluable the chances to perform in full scale productions of musicals that are exceedingly complex and difficult to tackle, LATA, first and foremost, believe in education. Personal development of individual skills in all disciplines required to become professionals in what is an ever-growing business. A performer is only as good as the effort they put in to their training, and the wealth of experience of both the resident and guest tutors at LATA helped bring out the best in me, as well as the rest of my classmates. I made friends for life at LATA, ones that I shall never lose. And to be honest, you never truly leave. Ex-students are always welcomed back with open arms which is the most humbling experience in the world"
